Far East Timber Trading Company was founded in Malaysia by Datuk Ong Teck Eng in 1973. He converted it into a private limited company, Far East Industries Sdn. Bhd. in 1994. Datuk Ong, who has been involved in the timber industry for over 40 years, is currently the company chairman. He has turned Far East into a prospering timber trading corporation with a reputation for superior customer service, timely delivery and high quality products.

Far East Timber trades in all kinds of local woods such as Nyatoh, Chengal, Kembang Semangkuk, Merbau, Mempisang (Kasah), Meranti, Balau, Resak,and Mixwood.
