General Characteristics : Heartwood generally golden brown or red brown when freshly cut but darkening on exposure, sapwood white to yellowish white, distinct. Texture moderately fine to somewhat coarse; Grain interlocked to wavy; moderately to highly lustrous; without distinctive odor or taste; ripple marks prominent.
Air-dry density : 755 – 1250 kg/m3
Drying and Shrinkage : Prone to checking during seasoning. Seasons fairly slowly with only slight degrade. Shrinkage: Radial 1.0 – 2.3%; Tangential 1.7 – 3.7%.
